Lauren & Alex :: Princeton Marriott at Forrestal Wedding Photos

Something that is very near and dear to my heart (besides fur babies) is the military; in fact, many of my family members are, or have been, in various branches of the military. So, when I met Lauren and Alex, and incredible military couple, I knew their big day would be classic and full of emotion. Their Princeton Marriott at Forrestal wedding did not disappoint!
Lauren and Alex’s big day was just the right amount of fall foliage, coupled with classic wedding colors, and topped off with great weather! This military couple even added in some personal touches that warmed my heart. Be sure to check out the photo of what Lauren hid in the layers of her gown, and of course, they had someone near and dear to them and their careers officiate.
The venue for Lauren and Alex’s big day, the Princeton Marriott at Forrestal, was an excellent choice. From the outdoor ceremony site, to the hospitality extended by the entire staff, to some picturesque locations throughout the property, the Princeton Marriott at Forrestal is always a great wedding venue.
Thank you Lauren, Alex, your families and friends for allowing me to be a part of such an important day in your lives! I am grateful for you both, your service to our country, and that I was able to document your wedding day for you!

How did you and your fiancé meet?
Alex and I met in the spring of 2014 through work. At the time, I was stationed at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Alex was stationed at Barksdale AFB in Shreveport, Louisiana.
I worked in the B-52 System Program Office and I was an engineer and Alex worked as a test director in a test unit at Barksdale. We were responsible for developing, and testing a modification on the B-52 platform. We spent a few months working on the program virtually and then later that summer, I went to Barksdale AFB to install and test the modification with Alex. During the summer in Shreveport, Louisiana, it is HOT and HUMID and when you are out on an airplane runway in an aircraft that does not have central air conditioning it is even hotter! I was a hot and sweaty mess crawling around this massive bomber aircraft while Alex waited for the installation to be completed. Once I installed the new device Alex took over to begin testing. I distinctly remember sitting on the floor of this old aircraft and thinking “this guy is pretty nerdy but super cute but I am sure he has some amazing girlfriend that he is about to propose too”. While I was at Barksdale, our interaction was strictly professional and work related, it was not until after I left did I decide to Facebook stalk him and friend him.
Slowly our interactions through work became a little more friendly and while he was visiting Tinker in the fall we went on our first unofficial date–I did not realize when he asked me to grab dinner after-work, that he meant a real date! After our unofficial date which was at my favorite pizza place in OKC, we continued our friendly chats outside of work and eventually about 2 months later, he asked me to meet him in Dallas for a weekend (Dallas is the half way point between OKC and Shreveport). The rest is history after our real date night in Dallas!!

What did you look forward to most on your wedding day?
Alex and I planned to write our own vows; writing our own vows is important to us because as a dual military couple we know we will face unique moments during our marriage that the average couple may never understand or know.
