Tia & Jake :: New Jersey Micro Wedding Photos

Wedding plans for engaged couples all over the world have changed, in fact my own wedding plans have changed, because of the worldwide coronavirus pandemic. Some have simply postponed their wedding. Some, like Tia and Jake, have simply changed what their big day looks like. Enter the “minimony“! Read on to learn all about it and what it looked like for these lovebirds…
I have known Tia and Jake for decades now, as we went to school together many, many years ago! They are a super cool, laid back couple…with two fur-babies, Boots and Lucy. Jake is a glass blower in central New Jersey – he even made the glass they broke at the end of their wedding ceremony.
This chill couple’s original big day was supposed to take place in Woodstock, New York, earlier this month. Because of COVID-19, they opted to still get married now, and simply postpone their “big” event. Tia and Jake exchanged vows in a super small, social distanced backyard ceremony and catered reception, with friends and family viewing via Zoom, and their pups in custom floral collars! Despite the change of venue, their love was felt by all who were present, both in person and via the internet, and of course, celebrated with good food, good music, and even super cute favors of champagne splits…and masks.
Of course, we cannot forget the little touches the family made – ranging from flowers, to doggy floral crowns (by Jake’s sister!) and of course the handmade cake topper mimicking Jake, Tia and the dogs. It was adorable!
Did I mention their marriage license got pooped on by a bird? That must be good luck!
Thank you Tia and Jake for letting me be a part of your mini-big day! I am so honored to call you both friends and to have been able to capture this moment in your history!
