Nicole and Michael

As we all know, I love each and every one of my couples: each has a story to tell, different from the next. The story I have to tell through my lens about Nicole and Michael is not just full of joy and love, but they are super fun and such a stunning couple! I mean, how many brides limbo under a guests tie at their wedding? Check out this gorgeous couple and their Coach House at the Ryland Inn rustic wedding to see exactly what I mean!
Shooting Nicole and Michael’s wedding day was picture perfect: rustic, Northern New Jersey, outdoors in October at the Coach House at theRyland Inn. They are a blast, gorgeous, and adore each other and it shows in every. single. picture. We had soooo much fun at this wedding: limbo? Under the tie of a guest? Yes, please! I captured it, too! Keep reading to see it! It’s the BEST!
The Coach House at The Ryland Inn was the perfect location for these two lovebirds; I love shooting there, and once again, this wedding did not disappoint. The grounds of this 220 year old equestrian estate are amazing, the lovingly restored buildings are full of charm and delight, and they have some of the most unique cocktail hour displays ever (check out my pics!). From rustic chandeliers to the amazing brick fireplace, the Coach House at the Ryland Inn is picture perfect!
I am soooo grateful that you both allowed me to capture your amazing wedding day! I adore both of you and am so honored you allowed me to capture your love on your big day! Cheers!

How did you two meet and fall in love?
We always knew each other having grown up in the same town with a similar group of friends, but we didn’t connect on a romantic level until seeing each other at a party down the Jersey shore.

What was your favorite memory from your wedding day?
Mike says his favorite memory was watching his soon to be bride walk down the aisle with her dad. It was an emotional moment for him he’ll never forget. Nicole’s favorite moment was right before the first look, seeing Mike dressed in his tux, not yet facing her, and all of the anticipation and excitement for the day coming together at that first moment she saw him on their wedding day.

What was most important to you when planning your wedding?
To make sure that we got to enjoy as much of the day as possible, not following traditions that would make others happy but really staying true to the things we cared about during this day.

Was there a theme behind your wedding day? What colors did you choose? What ‘feeling’ were you going for?
We wanted a romantic, rustic, but refined/classy vibe. Sometimes rustic can go too far, and we wanted to be sure to keep that in mind. We also wanted to honor October and the fall season, using gold and burgundy accents.

What made you choose your specific venue for your wedding day?
When we first saw our venue, it had no walls or floors installed yet, it was the bones of a historic site. We fell in love with the vision, we trusted the reputation of the Ryland Inn and looking back couldn’t be happier with our choice to dive in site (almost) unseen. Over the course of the year planning our wedding, we got to watch the progress and see it come to life before our eyes. That’s a special memory we will always have from this process that not every couple gets. Ultimately, the Coach House was our exact vision of an elegant but rustic venue.

What piece of advice would you give to future couples planning their big day?
Always check in with each other and make sure all the decisions you are making are reflective of YOU as a couple, not what family members or friends may think is best. At the end of the day, this is about committing the rest of your lives to one another, and you two are the only ones who have to love every part of this day. As long as you are on the same page, ignore the rest of the noise and enjoy every moment you can together, it’s goes by in the blink of an eye!
