There are a few things to consider before starting your wedding invitation design process.
Consider the follow wedding invitation tips below:
Handle the Major Details
Venue First, Then Date
Most couples think that the first step post-engagement is to pick a wedding date, but there are other things to consider before landing on a date and sending out save the dates. Although it’s not necessary to have a venue booked until the formal invitation, it’s a good idea to look at venues and check their available dates before committing to a specific day. Falling in love with a venue just to find out they can’t make the date you want happen can be a disappointment so rather than planning around a date, plan around the venue and then create your save the date.
Once you have your venue secured and your date locked down, set up your engagement shoot. This way if you are planning to use photo save the dates or photo wedding invitations you will have plenty of time to get camera-ready and your edited photos back to use on a photo design. There is no need to mention the venue on a save the date card, but again having that date locked means not having to make changes later.
Day of Details
Before sending out formal wedding invitations it’s a must that you have your day of details done! That means menu options, accommodations, registry, reception info, and directions are all taken care of – especially if you’re wedding day requires more than one location, guests will have a gap between the ceremony and reception, or you have a large guest list. The more organized you are with plans ahead of time the better! Your guests will want all of the info at their fingertips so be sure to supply them with all of the day of details when you send out your wedding invites.
Those are a few major things to consider while planning your wedding in relation to your wedding invitations, but no matter your wedding invitation style or your wedding day details here is an easy guide of what to do and when to do it for your reference!
