Utilizing Springtime Blooms On Your Big Day
Hooray! Spring is here! For those brides who were able to tough out the long, cold winter and book a spring wedding, congratulations. You will now be presented with falling floral prices as well as nearly endless options to decorate your wedding. Here are a few ways to utilize springtime blooms on your big day other than in your bridal bouquet.
On The Cake
The best part about a spring wedding is that you can use a vast array of flowers to decorate anything. However, we have yet to see anything as pretty as fresh flowers on a wedding cake. Some bride and grooms take it a step further and use edible flowers on their cake, which literally transforms spring’s gorgeous blooms into eye candy.
In Your Hair
We have seen brides primarily incorporate flowers in their hair by using a pretty flower to accessorize a bridal updo or wearing a crown of flowers in lieu of a veil. Flowers in your hair can run the gamut from appearing highly formal to casual, therefore try to remember the following formulas: Flowers + updo equals more formal, flowers – updo + the great outdoors equals more casual.
On the Table
Yes, flowers on the table are nothing new, but why not opt for a more interesting centerpiece and save the flowers for the individual place settings? Fold your favorite flower in each guest’s napkin or tie a bunch of flowers to the back of each chair. Sometimes all it takes is a strategically arranged flower in an unexpected place to really make the look your own.
Look up in the sky. It’s a bird, it’s a plane, no it’s just a beautiful floral pomander! Wedding pomanders are one of our favorite visuals whenever we walk into a wedding. Hang your pomander from trees, place them at the top of a door, place them at the top of a chuppah or even use them to decorate pews. They are versatile, beautiful and work well with any type of spring flower.
Spring Flowers are Mother Nature’s way of congratulating us for surviving winter, so we owe it to her to really do the place up with all the gorgeous flowers at our disposal. Wear them, eat them or decorate with them because there are plenty of stunning flowers to go around.
