Christie & Nick
The biggest compliment anyone could ever pay me would be to introduce their friend to me and my work, and that friend (or family member) hire me to document their big day via photos. Christie and Nick are exactly that: Christie is the sister of one of my amazing brides who said “I do” last year! You may recognize her and her husband….or perhaps one of her entertainers as you take a peek at Christie’s dream wedding at the Stone House at Stirling Ridge
Christie and Nick are so special to me, and so much fun to work with! From their engagement session at Liberty State Park, to their big day, it’s been incredible! I loved how they incorporated their bucket list of travel into their big day; the details they used were perfect! When guests arrived and were to find their place card, they were invited to “travel to their seats”. It was classy, unique, and adorable all rolled into one.
Fun fact: if you took a peek at the wedding of Shannon and Steven at Clarks Landing last year (Shannon is Christie’s sister) then you saw that the one and only Gloria Gaynor stopped by to perform. Well, Christie and Nick’s wedding was no different, and once again, this music legend performed. I have been treated to not one, but two live performances!
I know I say this a lot, but when I say I love my couples, or I love the venues they choose, I really do love them, and the Stone House at Stirling Ridge is no different. It has a mix of a classic wedding reception venue, with the beauty of North Jersey. If you’re looking for a stunning location with great outdoor spaces for photos, a traditional reception venue, and a venue that incorporates some modern characteristics like floor to ceiling windows, then definitly take a peek at the Stone House at Stirling Ridge.
Being able to photograph the weddings of siblings is so special, and this wedding was certainly no different. I am able to truly see how alike siblings are, how different they are, and how each envisions their big day, then executes it. It has been an honor to work with Christie, her sister, and their family for some time now. I cannot thank everyone enough, and can’t wait to see what the future holds for Christie and Nick! I’ll also note – Christie and I connected on a cat loving level like no other; and look forward to endless cat memes and videos to be shared for years to come :-).

Christie’s mom gifted her some jewelry to wear on her wedding day – it was the sweetest mother daughter moment!
How did you two meet and fall in love?
We met through a mutual friend in high school. I asked if we could all hang out and the only option when you are 15 & 16 is a group date to the movies at the mall. He made fun of my Ugg boots and have me a goodnight kiss. It was the start of our very long love story.
What was your favorite memory from your wedding day?
Our favorite memory was the moment we both waited for our whole lives. When we saw each other for the first time at each end of the church and knew we would be spending the rest of our lives together.
Was there a theme behind your wedding day? What colors did you choose? What ‘feeling’ were you going for?
We went with a vintage travel theme because we both enjoy traveling around the world and have a long bucket list to accomplish. Our Bridesmaids wore a light harbor blue and the Groomsmen wore black Tuxedos
What made you choose your specific venue for your wedding day?
I narrowed it down to two different venues and had Nick check them both out. I had a good idea in my head which venue I knew was perfect but I wanted to make sure Nick had the same opportunity to choose his favorite place. He walked into the Stone House after visiting the first venue and he instantly said SOLD bring me the contract! We both fell in love with the same venue no questions asked!
What was most important to you when planning your wedding?
Making sure that the planning was fun and not stressful.
What piece of advice would you give to future couples planning their big day?
Don’t stress out about the little things, make yourself a timeline and don’t be afraid to ask for help.
