Spring Lake Engagement Photos :: Alyssa and Erich
As pretty much everyone knows by now, I am a dog mom, so when it came time to shoot Alyssa and Erich’s Spring Lake Engagement Photos with their totally awesome pup, Teddy, I was beyond excited!
When we met up to take these adorable shots in Spring Lake, in addition to the bride and groom-to-be looking super classy, Teddy was dressed up, too! Alyssa chose a fantastic J.Crew maxi-dress with Steve Madden shoes, while Erich was in a Calvin Klein shirt, Dockers shorts, and a pair of Sperry boat shoes. Teddy was outfitted with a bow tie to coordinate with them both! While I (obviously) adored Teddy’s bow tie, what I loved a tad bit more were the stories behind Alyssa’s jewelry: her bracelet was a gift she received for her Bat Mitzvah, and the earrings were ones her Mom had picked up during a cross country road trip she took before marrying Alyssa’s Dad!
We had a great time walking the park and chatting about their upcoming 2019 wedding. I really enjoyed getting to know these two and getting them used to my camera!
Alyssa and Erich had plenty more to share during this Spring Lake engagement shoot…read more below to learn more about them!

We met at a rooftop bar (The Dubliner) in Hoboken 6 years ago. I was living there at the time and Whitney, one of my best friends, was visiting me. She had just started dating this guy Keith (Erich’s best friend) and wanted to meet him at the bar. Erich had come in with Keith, and we started talking that night. Long story short, we dated for a few months until I broke up with him and broke his heart. I was getting ready to move away for grad school and didn’t want to be in a relationship. We kept in touch on and off and two years later we were both at the same NYE party hosted by Whit and Keith. We reconnected there and that was that!
We are learning and growing together with a lot of humor and a lot of love.
When Harry Met Sally! Aside from being one of my favorites, we owe our relationship to our best friends.
Erich took me to a dog friendly winery we had been to the year before for my birthday and had really enjoyed. He got us a bottle of wine but was acting very irritable so I thought maybe he was hangry (he was just nervous!). I went inside to get us some food and another bottle and when I came out there was a guy playing guitar singing “Hey Baby.” When I walked up to Erich and Teddy I saw Teddy had an envelope tied around his neck. I bent down to open it and Erich got down on one knee. The card had the ring in it and said “Will you marry my Dad?” The winery was a lot more crowded than we had anticipated, and everyone sitting on the lawn stood up and started clapping for us. And Teddy, who is never one to be excluded from any show off affection, immediately jumped on us when we hugged. It was lovely and filled with wine, cheese, dogs and Erich-my favorite things!
We are most excited to have all the people we love in one spot and ready to party. We’re always get ourselves into trouble for over inviting people or telling people about events we weren’t supposed to. We just want everyone to be included! We’re excited to finally have a party where we can invite everyone meaningful to us and share a beer with them.
