Anna & Adam :: Sayen Gardens Engagement Photos

Couple facing one another, nose to nose, smiling, standing on top of a bridge in park

Everytime I shoot at Sayen Gardens, I always say this: it holds a special place in my heart at it is where my engagement photos were taken! So of course, I always LOVE shooting here! This super sweet couple really took this shoot to another level of fun though! Keep reading to hear more about this sweet couple and what she is looking forward to most at their wedding!

Anna and Adam are super fun and it totally showed throughout this shoot! They have shared so much about themselves as a couple leading up to, and during, our shoot, and it really showed. I mean, they love to cook interesting meals together and special date nights end with ridiculous milkshakes, how is that not super fun?!

Their shoot at Sayen Gardens was so much fun, and their attire was spot on. Anna’s first dress by The Coverii she picked up at a boutique in Georgia was perfectly complemented by Adam’s blue shirt by Flag & Anthem. The burgundy dress Anna also wore for the shoot is from Francesca’s. Fun fact: it’s her favorite place to shop, so much so that this dress is the same one she wore on their first date and the night they got engaged!

I loved every part of this fun engagement shoot and learning so much about this couple! I can’t wait to see what is next for them!

What do you love most about each other?

Adam: My favorite thing about Anna is that she is so upbeat and has an excited attitude about life.  She is constantly encouraging me, constantly suggesting adventurous things to do, and is never afraid be spontaneous and go off the trail to do something fun.

Anna: Adam is so caring and generous. He is always willing to help with anything (this week he helped me make a balloon arch for work) and he genuinely enjoys doing things for others. He also is so good about making sure I feel loved and cared about–he likes to show affection in small ways whenever we’re together just to check in and make sure I know he’s thinking about me. Also, he’s pretty darn cute. 🙂

How do you describe your relationship together (fun, quirky, romantic, practical, etc)?

We are a combination of quirky and romantic.  We both have very silly sides, but at the same time, we are very sensitive to one another, and tend to enjoy doing romantic things for one another like writing notes, giving flowers, surprising one another at work, etc.

Adam likes to joke he is the “dad-liest catch”. He seems to have an unlimited supply of dad jokes and uses them regularly.

Describe the proposal

I (Adam) worked with a friend of mine who is a graphic designer, and I worked with her for a few months leading up to the engagement to make a book filled with art that represented many of our most memorable early dates.  At the end of the book was the proposal with a scene under a bunch of blooming cherry blossom trees.  I picked up Anna from her work, she changed into a red dress (the one in the shoot, also the one she wore for our first date!), and we drove up to Branch Brook park for a picnic under the cherry blossoms.  I gave her the book and she said yes!

What are you most excited about for your wedding? (Vows, dances, party, etc.)

Adam: The party with all of the people there who are happy for you and supporting the new marriage!

Anna: Is it wrong to say the cake? But actually, walking down the wrought iron staircase in the chapel for the ceremony.
