I love each and every venue I shoot weddings at for so many different reasons. Some are bigger, some are more intimate, some have amazing gardens….the list goes on. After going through the process to find the venue for my own wedding in 2020 (yes, I had to research!), I decided that I will start highlighting venues on my blog every so often to be able to help my future brides. This week’s venue highlight: the Rock Island Lake Club, in Sparta, New Jersey.
I love, love, love Rock Island Lake Club! The building itself is incredible; combined with the most gorgeous lake and surrounded by lush grounds, it’s the perfect mixture of indoor and outdoor spaces to allow for stunning photos. The main building allows for brides to make the space their own, as well. Whether you want a rustic wedding or a modern wedding, the space works well for anything.
Everyone knows that the “perfect” wedding really is made by……the food. And, ohhhhhh the food at the Rock Island Lake Club is second to none. The cocktail hour? OMG. Food galore! And the food is soooo good, too! I love how they have their bar set ups – with the glass and mirrors (check out the pics!).
I cannot say enough about the food, the presentation, the amount, any of it. Rock Island Lake Club is where its at! To make the feature of Rock Island Lake Club on my blog event better, I interviewed their one and only Jaime and asked her about some of the highlights of the venue, as well as some of the things she loves the most about it. Check it out!
What make Rock Island Lake Club unique?
There are so many things, it’s tough to pick one. So i’ll pick three! The food and inclusive wedding package with unique options to customize it to your style and flavor is for sure the top. Our staff would be another. They are so personable, young, innovative and highly renowned from their reviews (see them on WeddingWire.com). These people are not robotic. They’re very genuine. Finally, the setting. We are like a private oasis for your wedding – but close to home. The Rock Island Lake Club isn’t stuffy or ballroom-esque. There you have it: we’re unique because of the food, setting and service.
Everyone knows when looking for a venue, there are the certain basics. What are the ones everyone needs to know about the Rock Island Lake Club?
Anyone looking at the Rock Island Lake Club should book early. Anywhere from 18-20 months out from the date they would like. We can accomodate 196 people maximum, but ideally, 175 people is comfortable. Finally, and this is more about the way we look then anything – we do not have any carpet. We have hardwood floors, with floor to ceiling windows around our ballroom allowing for as much natural light as possible. Plus, it gives your guests a view of the grounds like none other .
What’s included when a couple books Rock Island Lake Club?
One wedding package includes the full venue for the day (we only have one wedding per day). It includes valet parking, personal hostess, all tables and chairs (so no rental fees), one and a half hours for cocktails, and three and a half hours for the reception. All food included is prepared by our in house catering staff. This includes eight butler passed hors d’oeuvres, three live captain stations, two butcher blocks, three classic fillers and a full cold display. We serve premium liquor, red and white wines and have thirty (30) beers on tap! Dinner begins with a salad and a choice of five entrees, seasonal dessert display, ice cream sundae bar and wedding cake by Palermo’s Bakery. The wedding coordinator is included for the day of and leading up to the day. Should a bride and groom want to have their ceremony on site (for thirty additional minutes), there is a small additional fee. Additional things brides and grooms may want that cost additional fees include bridal suites and additional time on the property. Always ask us anything you may want. We always look to customize anything for our couples.
Speaking of customization, how do you help couples customize their wedding at the Rock Island Lake Club?
Our package is customizable with lots of different hors d’oeuvre and food options. We have a lot of around the world themes for stations during cocktail hour, mac and cheese, Italian station, Asian station, Mexican station, a bacon station, a pub style station and more. There are endless possibilities. We also love to work with our couples to come up with signature drinks.
Do you have any plans for the venues future? Construction, incorporating a new product etc.
We are actually working on expanding the back of the venue and the grooms suite.
What’s one interesting fact about the Rock Island Lake Club?
