Lord Of The Rings Wedding :: Kat and Scott
These days, the internet is a crazy thing. We meet people, we reconnect – its absolutely insane! However, a lot of couples these days are meeting that way and its great! Kat and Scott were one of those duos that met online. After a few dates and getting to know each other and learning about each other’s deep interest in Lord of the Rings and all things nerd-like. 🙂
Fast forward to Spring 2017 and here we are capturing their wedding day! Kat and Scott chose to keep their wedding simple and intimate. They wanted to focus on the family aspect of the wedding and only had their immediate family at the wedding. Kathy wore a beautiful dress by IEIE Bridal featuring gold intricate beadwork. She paired her simple gold heels with a handmade bag from her mother-in-law Rosita. Scott and his groomsmen all wore gray slacks and paired them with emerald green suspenders and Scott stood out with a golden yellow vest to match the color scheme. For the ceremony, Kathy’s uncle walked her down the aisle and family stood by and watched intently. After the ceremony and of course our time for photos – it was then time to party and celebrate! This family was no stranger to the dance floor and they all got up and enjoyed themselves on the back patio of the backyard.
Overall, this wedding was intimate and meaningful to every person that attended. I was so happy to be a part of it and capture these images for them.
Congratulations Kathy and Scott!
Q: What was most important to you when planning your wedding?
A: what was most important to me when planning my wedding, was keeping the mind set of this being a family celebration not what alot of weddings nowadays turn into. I just wanted family, not to start our new life with debt and complaints from people we haven’t seen in years. Scott’s main goal was to make sure I was happy and we had enough food. His philosophy happy wife happy life.
Q: What was the inspiration behind your wedding theme or colors?
A: I’m pretty sure that between us and everyone who was invited, seeing Rosita (mother of the groom) so incredibly happy and dancing
wildly is everyone’s favorite thing. Her happy energy made everyone else feel like doing the same.
A: I would tell them how on the wedding day we felt, incredibly grateful. Everyone came together, knowing how crazy busy we were, helped make sure everything went swimmingly and the best part was that our wedding stayed true to what we wanted without the bells and whistles. On our wedding day, we felt loved, nothing in the world can beat that.
A: I knew my venue was the “one” by just one standard. That one standard is: it was my aunt and uncle’s backyard (I was serious when I said I wanted to keep this all about family).
