Christie + Nick :: Engaged

I’m so excited to share these Liberty State Park engagement photos with you today! Christie and Nick were absolutely adorable during their session and despite some mention of their experience with photographers being a bit cheesy and not-so-fun I think we got the job done well because these two could not stop laughing and enjoying each others company!

Christie chose a beautiful of the shoulder blue dress by Nordstrom and a tan Jacket from Ugg (hello awesome Ugg jacket- I want one! haha). She topped her outfit off with a super cute necklace (from momma!!!) and sandals to still keep it dressy, but casual and fun. Nick complimented his bride-to-be wonderfully in a SuitSupply fitted suit and brooks brother’s button down – dapper man!

We enjoyed walking around the park, taking in the views and working with the fun props these two had – including champagne and a scratch off map – representing the two states they’ve lived together so far.

You can never go wrong with celebrating a great shoot with popping some champagne! I can’t wait for their wedding next year at The Stone House!

If your love story was a movie, which movie would it be?

Beauty and the Beast, not because either of us transformed, but because we make each other the best version of ourselves on a daily basis.

When we’re together, we make each other happier, more adventurous and are always willing to leave our comfort zones.

How did you two meet?

We met through a mutual friend in high school. He was friends with my friends boyfriend, and I asked if we could hang out together. We were 15 & 16, so a group movie
date at the mall was our only option. He made fun of my Ugg boots and gave me a goodnight kiss, it was the start of a very very long love story.

Describe the proposal

Her Version: It was our first night on what was a three week trip through Europe. We started in Italy, a country both of us loved to go. Nick’s family joined us for the first leg of the trip through Italy; I loved that it somehow worked out that everyone could come. After a beautiful dinner, we made our way to the Trevi Fountain, one of my only memories from a trip to Italy when I was young (but was under construction and completely empty when Nick and I had gone just two years earlier). Each of us took turns making wishes and throwing coins into the fountain. When my turn came, I closed my eyes as my mom made me promise I would, made my wishes, and when I opened them again Nick was on one knee with a diamond ring extended towards me. Tears of joy streamed from my face as I said “Yes” and he sealed the promise with a kiss. And the surprises didn’t end there… the final leg of our trip brought us to Ireland, where my mom and sister were waiting to finish the celebration. It truly was a trip of a lifetime!

His Version: It was our first night on what was a three week trip through Europe. We started in Rome, the only city on the itinerary we had already gone to. My family, being aware of my plans, made every effort to join the first leg of the trip. After the longest dinner of my life, we made our way to the Trevi Fountain. On the way, the photographer’s (my brother’s) camera began started acting up, turning off randomly and missing potentially extremely vital moments. I openly debated running a mile back and forth to the hotel to grab a back-up camera, a suggestion that made no logical sense. When we got to the fountain, the camera seemed to come back to life. I rudely made sure to make my wishes before Christie had the chance; first and foremost that Christie would say yes, next that my brother’s camera would behave. Both came true in what would become one of the most memorable nights of our lives. Little did Christie know, that wasn’t the only surprise coming. I had already added an extra room to our hotels in Ireland for two additional guests.

What are you most excited about for your wedding? (Vows, dances, party, etc.)

We have been together for almost a decade, but rarely do you get to celebrate your own love on such a grand stage. What we’re most excited about is being able to share
that opportunity with all the family, friends and loved ones who made us who we are today.
