Beth & Ryan
I love shooting old friends and their families; there’s nothing like capturing their special moments. So when Beth and Ryan’s big day [finally] arrived, I was beyond excited to be a part of it at the Laurita Winery. You might recognize these two lovebirds from their proposal that I captured and then was featured in Contemporary Weddings Magazine or their engagement session that was also recently published. Or you might remember that I’ve actually known Ryan for many years as we grew up together, just four houses away from each other. Read on to hear all about their big day and check out their gorgeous rustic winery wedding details.
After beginning their big day in two locations, and seeing each other for the first time as Beth walked down the aisle to Ryan at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Allentown, New Jersey, we moved to Laurita Winery. Everything at the winery was perfect, and honestly, it always is. I love this venue for anything and not only do I shoot here often, but I visit for various events, as well.
Beth and Ryan chose not just an amazing place to celebrate their big day, as well as vendors to help them do so, but they put together an incredible color scheme! From the rustic romantic theme they chose, including florals in shades of burgundy and magenta, mixed with plenty of unique greens, to the DJ, this was an amazing celebration at an amazing location. One of my favorite details: their custom stemless wine glasses. Be sure to keep reading to see them!
I am so grateful to have kept in touch with one of my childhood friends and have the opportunity to document one of the most important times of his life. Capturing the many memories of Ryan and his family on this monumental occasion, along with his new wife’s family, and all of their friends was a special moment I will never forget. I can’t wait to see both Ryan and his stunning wife, Beth, grow as a couple and what amazing things are in store for them in the future.

How did you two meet and fall in love?
We met in college, on the first day of freshmen year. We had mutual friends all throughout college, but it wasn’t until right before our senior year when we were both at a friend’s party over the summer that we really talked for the first time. After that night, we went on our first date and have been together ever since!
What made you choose your specific venue for your wedding day?
We fell in love with it the first time we went there… it was rustic like we were looking for, and just felt like us. Not your typical wedding venue. We also really wanted to choose somewhere we could go back to after the wedding day.
Was there a theme behind your wedding day? What colors did you choose? What ‘feeling’ were you going for?
Our color scheme was dusty rose and mauve… we were going for a romantic feel at the winery!
What was most important to you when planning your wedding?
We love to throw a good party, so we wanted to make sure we got an awesome DJ to keep everyone on the dance floor… and we did!
What was your favorite memory from your wedding day?
Seeing all of our friends and family out on the dance floor!
What piece of advice would you give to future couples planning their big day?
Don’t stress! Most people won’t notice the minor details that seem like such a big deal while you’re planning. Everyone is there to celebrate you!
