Beth and Ryan
You might recognize these two lovebirds, Beth and Ryan, from their proposal that I captured not too long ago, which was featured in Contemporary Weddings Magazine! Now it’s time for their engagement photos, which we did at Longstreet Farm in Holmdel. I’ve actually known Ryan for many years: we grew up together, as his childhood home was four houses away from mine. I love shooting old friends and their families; there’s nothing like capturing their special moments while reminiscing about the good ol’ days.
I met Beth and Ryan at Longstreet Farm in Holmdel on a gorgeous day to shoot their engagement photos. When I got there, they had a surprise for me: they brought along their big puppy, Max! As everyone knows by now, I loveeee when couples incorporate their fur babies into sessions!
If you’ve never been to Longstreet Farm, you’re missing out! This is a historical site, complete with individuals dressed to help recreate a working rural farm in Monmouth County in the 1890’s. It’s so gorgeous and fun (and educational). They have animals, too! Check out the pics to see a few we met.
Beth’s outfit choices for their cool and casual shoot were perfect! She chose a black shirt and jeans from Express, which went perfectly with Ryan’s choice of a simple Ralph Lauren t-shirt and Paige jeans. Her long maxi dress from Lulus was an excellent relaxed, yet chic choice. What I really loved about this choice was how she went without shoes – relaxed, yet super classy: perfect for creating a different look at the farm. Ryan complemented Beth by throwing on a sweater from Ralph Lauren. Finally, the short green dress from Forever21 that Beth chose for their last look, went perfectly with the gorgeous backdrop of Longstreet Farms. Ryan finished off the shoot with a button down from Vineyard Vines, topped with a puffer vest (one of my favorite things to wear).
We had so much fun together during their engagement shoot, and I cannot wait for their wedding! I am so grateful to have kept in touch with one of my childhood friends, and having the opportunity to witness one of the most important times of his life. I can’t wait to see you both (and Ryan’s entire family) in August!
