Hoboken Engagement photos. Relaxing and just “being yourself” is always the most important part of being photographed – and something that most people struggle with, myself included. But not Anar and John! These two were a ball of laughs and full of love throughout their engagement shoot in Hoboken, and it came out in every single shot. Keep reading to take a peek for yourself (and checkout their awesome proposal story while you’re at it)…

I always love shooting in Hoboken: there are so many amazing places to capture photos of my couples! Our day started off in the historic Hoboken train station, where there really is never a “bad” photo. We continued on along the waterfront, where Anar and John just had so much fun in their “casual” attire. Each chose the best outfits as well! Anar had on a white top by J.Crew, that captured pretty, feminine and casual all in one, along with jeans from Madewell, while John donned a button down from Nautica and jeans by Banana Republic.

When it came time to dress up a little, Anar put on the most perfect blue dress I have ever seen! This dress from Lulu’s was sweet and had the greatest flow to it as we made our way up the Hoboken waterfront and she and John danced around a bit. John was a classic, handsome gentleman in his white button down from Van Heusen and khaki’s by Dockers.

We had so much fun at their engagement session, and I cannot wait till next June for their big day; it’s not only going to be filled with love and laughs, but culture, too!

If your love story was a movie, which movie would it be?

We’ll pick a tv show – The Office (Jim & Pam)

How did you two meet?

We met at work – Prudential in Newark, NJ. John had been working for the company for a year when I joined. We had little communication outside of work-related topics in the beginning. Later, our communication was isolated to work and him begging me to play on the company softball team because they needed girls. I rejected… over and over. Finally, with the help of $1 beers, we had a real conversation at a fellow colleague’s birthday happy hour at Green Rock in Hoboken, NJ. The rest is history ๐Ÿ™‚

Describe the proposal

He proposed on our trip to Spain in Barcelona. I couldn’t believe he brought the ring all the way to another continent, because anyone who knows John knows he’s pretty risk averse and a creature of habit.

Upon arriving to Barcelona, we realized our room was teeny tiny and very open – like most European rooms. John KICKED ME OUT within minutes of entering the room and sent me on a quest to find adapters and get our tickets to an excursion later that day printed. While I found it odd, I knew it had been somewhat of long (red eye) journey and figured maybe he just needed the space. Within 10 minutes of leaving our hotel, he texts me and says it’s okay to come back. WEIRD, but maybe just needed a breath? I come to find out (much later) that he had stashed the ring in the bottom of the box that held his airpod case within the safe (clever). It wasn’t until the next evening he planned to propose… so we went on our excursion to Sagrada Familia that evening. The next day we went to Mercado de La Boqueria, a delish food market, and continued to venture around the city during the day. Meanwhile, he mentioned he had something planned for us that night. I had given him much grief before we left for the trip (like most girls) that he needed to up the romance. So, I thought this was his way of doing just that. We pull up in an Uber to a beautiful museum with waterfalls in front that I come to find out later is Placa de les Cascades. He proposed in front and the rest is history ๐Ÿ™‚ He was awesome enough to hire a photographer for that as well!!

Describe your relationship in one sentence:

Our relationship is a constant battle of deciding what to eat and debating what tv show/movie to watch even though I (Anar) will fall asleep within 10 minutes of it starting.
