Gramercy at Lakeside Manor Wedding :: Danielle and Michael
Danielle and Michael’s wedding at the Gramercy at Lakeside Manor was one for the books! Not only did they have the time of their lives, I had the time of my life shooting them, and their guests had the time of their lives all day long as well! The best part was I was able to capture all of this pure, raw love and fun on their big day!
Before going any further, I must admit I am slightly biased as to why I had a blast with Danielle and Michael. I have known them for years, as Michael and I went to high school together, and then Danielle and I ended up in classes together at Rutgers! Small world, right?
In any event, their wedding was simply stunning. Danielle and Michael chose to go the traditional route and did not do a first look, rather seeing each other for the first time as she walked down the aisle at the Cathedral of Saint Francis of Assisi in Metuchen. After a traditional Catholic ceremony, and these two officially became husband and wife, they snuck off with their bridal party to take photos at Deep Cut Gardens. How gorgeous does everyone look against those fresh blooms?!
Finally, the big reception at the Gramercy at Lakeside Manor where all the fun was to be had. What I love about the Gramercy is exactly why Danielle and Michael chose it: they have a stunning venue that you can make into your own. From the waterfall outside to the over-sized staircase inside, I captured it all! Be sure to scroll all the way to the end so as to not miss the sensational nighttime photos at the gate at the end of the night!
Thank you Danielle and Michael for having me play such an important role in such an important day in your lives! I am truly humbled and honored, and am beyond blessed to have you both in my life after all these years.
P.S your crowd surfing skills as husband and wife are #newlywedgoals!

How did you two meet and fall in love?
We met in college in psychology class of 250 kids at Rutgers. Despite the large group, we always managed to catch one another’s eye on the way out. We didn’t officially find one another until Mike found me through a mutual friend on Facebook and I took the plunge by messaging him.
What piece of advice would you give to future couples planning their big day?
My best piece of advice would be to ENJOY the entire process. Sure there are times when the planning isn’t so fun and can be stressful for many reasons but there is no reason to fight about any of it. It should all be part of the adventure you are on together and meant to be enjoyed together. At the end of the day, you’re marrying the love of your life!
What made you choose your specific venue for your wedding day?
When we toured our venue, we were blown away. We had not seen anything that even compared. The decor was unique and beautiful while still providing a blank canvas to express ourselves as a couple. The team there was incredible and we just had the feeling that this was “the one.” Hands down, it stood out from the rest by a mile.
What was most important to you when planning your wedding?
What was your favorite memory from your wedding day?
Aside from seeing each other for the first time at the altar, one of the best moments was when we were dancing together on one of the DJ’s speakers facing the crowd and as we looked out, everyone was on the dance floor dancing and looking up at us. When I say everyone, I mean everyone…young and old. In that moment we felt so much love because everyone was there to celebrate our marriage and in that moment there was so much pure happiness. It was a surreal amazing moment we’ll never forget.
Was there a theme behind your wedding day? What colors did you choose? What ‘feeling’ were you going for?
